about

Ars Dada returns with the third and final installment of his “Katharsis & Threnoidia” EP trilogy, aptly named Aurora after the Roman goddess of dawn.

The EP contains five tracks steeped in soul-searching turmoil, but yet with a glimpse of daylight optimism, “everything is going to be all right”.

The EP opens with the atmospheric, yet bassdrenched Mourningstar, only to dive head first into the chaotic, heavily free jazz inspired- Laplace’s Demon. Katharsis then offers a bit of melancholic yet life affirming breakbeat positivity. Third track out, Abreaction, is a downtempo, upright bass-driven jazz respite, graced with an excellent Rhodes solo by Arctic Philharmonic’s very own Yegor Shevtsov.

The EP is crowned by the monumental, almost eight-minute long title track. Starting with only a single sitar, Aurora eventually grows into a bombastic, almost postrock-like, orchestral crescendo.
